In Winter 2019, a group of undergraduate students came together with the aim of creating a space for educational discussion about peace and disarmament on campus, and to end harmful military research and spending within the McGill community and beyond. As a campaign, Students for Peace and Disarmament (SPD) works towards the aforementioned goals by lobbying, non-violent action, educational campaigns, and other peaceful means to counter the prevailing destructive and dehumanizing activities of the military-industrial complex and other extractive industries.
